The winners of Canstar's 2022 Home & Contents Insurance Awards have been announced. Discover which service providers give their clients the best value.
The research team at Canstar evaluated more than 70 policies from 50 providers for our database this year. Our researchers considered the available features and prices when generating the Star Ratings. The sorts of events covered by each policy as well as premiums and excess amounts were taken into consideration.
The State Awards are based on providers' performances within each of the states, territories, and regions taken into consideration, while the National Awards honour providers who are providing customers with great value across all of Australia.
Australian policyholders were questioned by Canstar about their general satisfaction with the home insurance claims procedure. Our Most Satisfied Customers - Home Insurance Claims Award has been given to the supplier with the most contented clients overall.

These award-winning companies are listed alphabetically below, along with information from Canstar Research on what made them unique.
AAMI
AAMI won all three National Awards and six of the available State Awards because to its continually excellent performance. Canstar's researchers found that AAMI offers clients a well-rounded policy with reasonable premiums and extensive coverage.
A Post Australia
Australia Post also won ten State Awards, all three National Awards, and all three National Awards. According to Canstar's experts, Australia Post's outstanding success was mostly a result of its competitive pricing strategy, as its average premiums were much lower than the industry average.Spending Direct
This year, Budget Direct won the National Awards for Home & Contents and Home Insurance because it continues to provide products at reasonable prices. Although Budget Direct does not offer home insurance for residents in North Queensland or the Northern Territory, Canstar's researchers noted that the company excels in the areas where it does offer coverage.
CommInsure
The bundled Home & Contents Insurance Award for North Queensland was won by CommInsure, the insurance arm of Commonwealth Bank. Canstar defines North Queensland as the region of the state north of Rockhampton for the purposes of home insurance. According to our researchers, CommInsure provides insurance that are reasonably priced and feature-rich.
QBE
Australia Post's house insurance products are underwritten by QBE, however the company also sells coverage under its own name. Due to QBE's good overall performance,
For its home state of Western Australia, RAC RAC won the Home & Contents Insurance Award. When it comes to house insurance claims, RAC's clients in Australia were the most satisfied (more on this below).
RACT
For its native state of Tasmania, RACT received the Home Insurance Award. RACT has won this Award for the last two years in a row.
Suncorp
Last but not least, Suncorp took home five state Contents Insurance Awards in addition to the national Contents Insurance Award. According to Canstar's experts, Suncorp offers competitive premiums together with great features.Home Insurance Claims 2022 Most Happy Customers Award
The Canstar 2022 Most Satisfied Customers - Home Insurance Claims Award has been given to RAC
Canstar conducted a study of hundreds of Australians to determine how satisfied they were with the claims handling procedures of their existing home insurance company.
In addition to asking Australians to score their overall happiness with their supplier, we also asked them to do so based on ease, process, speed, quality, timeliness, and communication.
All categories in which RAC performed well were ease, timeliness, and quality of claims.
